Synopsis:
Based on a true incident, this powerful and heartwarming story tells of Toi, a beautiful tennis pro (USTA tennis champion Wantana Martinelli), who is brought to L.A. from Thailand by a middle-aged American playboy. He promises Toi marriage and support for her impoverished family.
But when a more exciting woman comes along, he dumps Toi. Then her troubles magnify when a ten-year-old street kid, Poochie (Jovon Rashaad Dizard), steals the last of her money, and consequently, she is locked out of her cheap motel room.
Desperation brings Toi and Poochie together, this oddest of couples, first as enemies, then as dubious partners. As a team, they survive in the Los Angeles streets and scam on the tennis courts for a bit of the American Dream.
